Our origins are set as far back as 1926 when the hallowed turf of what we now know as Pairc Mhic Gheairr played host to Gaelic Football for the first time in a game against Plumbridge

Club development continued joining the North Tyrone Board in 1935 and lifting our first ever piece of silverware in 1946  - the Davis Cup! This was followed by the successful Minor team of the 1960’s who won the West Tyrone League.

Indeed it is a special tribute to these players and their families who in difficult circumstances kept the club alive up and until the formation of the present club in 1968, taking the name of Wolfe Tones in 1971.

Since thenStand the Wolfe Tones have steadily developed both on and off the park.

In 1977 the club Committee purchased 11 acres of land including the football pitch.  1980 witnessed the Minor Team in the County Final and we enjoyed promotion to Intermediate status in 1982 and 1985 and a Reserve championship victory in 1984. Aligned to this development was the ever improving facilities at the ground.

The pitch layout was changed in the early 80’s and was surrounded by a perimeter fence, followed by the erection of the spectator stand in the early 90’s.

Back on the pitch we gained promotion in 1988 achieving arguably our greatest ever accoladPromotion 1988e in 1994 when we

Playing on such a stage required further investment in facilities which was reflected in the development of the Clubrooms and the lease of a second pitch from Omagh District Council.

Following relegation from the Senior League in 2000, we won two Senior Intermediate titles in 2001 and 2005 with the Reserves claiming the league in 2003.

Club LadiesOur history would not be complete without noting the achievements of the Ladies Teams.  Formed in the mid 90’s we won the league in 1998, the U16 reached the league final in 2007 with the Seniors yet again picking up the silverware in 2008, ten year after the first title.

‘Club Drumquin’ represents a unique and  challenging opportunity for you to contribute to the development and progression of your club.  Having created Tyrone stars of the past such as Aidan Skelton, Noel Donnelly, Sean and Paul McLaughlin, Eamon Gallogly and Liam Patterson, our vision is to deliver more players from the town who will gain reward for their club performances by playing for their County!
